I love that the UNDERGROUND is a safe place to have really hard tough conversations on relevant current events. Probably my favorite part of it is the "Ideas Into Action." It’s not this pie in the sky, big stuff up there (we talk about those things too, of course). We create real actionable items to make happen.
I think the UNDERGROUND is an opportunity to have discussions for progressive credit union leaders who want to be here 20 years from now. It allows me to go in and say that I may not like what I’m going to hear, but it’s a different view point. I can learn something from it.
When you do the forums, you create a trusted environment to discuss ideas. Not saying you have to agree to everything, and yet you’re not restricting. It’s free-flowing. Maybe out of 10 random ideas, two will stick with somebody and will create something new, something radical, something different, something better. And that is what this is about.
I appreciate that you create a safe space that our movement needs. We need to challenge one another and we need to take a hard look at how well we are responding to really difficult outside events. And if we do that, we'll be so much stronger for it. I'm glad you make space for it.
UNDERGROUND Collisions were designed to collide with critical events, bringing original, authentic ideas to conventional and traditional gatherings.
