CU Pride

A formal organization focused on driving vulnerable collaboration around issues impacting the credit union LGBTQ+ community and the members they serve.

LGBTQ+ and Allies

CU Pride is a crucial component of all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and will stand up to have a voice within the industry. CU Pride exists to:

  • Create a network and promote visibility of the LGBTQ+ community within credit unions
  • Provide a safe but brave place for communion and discussion
  • Create a forum for allies and social change agents
  • Promote inclusivity and intentional, positive action through programs, education and networking

It started with a conversation.

At the 2018 UNDERGROUND Collision, co-founder Linda Bodie was asked to speak about her experience as an openly out CEO. Her words stirred the audience.

Linda Bodie and co-founder Dan Marquez wanted to connect LGBTQ+ CU Professionals and brought the idea to MSA. In 2020, CU Pride™ was informally launched in Washington D.C. as part of the UNDERGROUND Collision RAW event. It formally launched in June 2020 with the First Annual Virtual CU Pride™ Event, with nearly 300 attendees worldwide.

CU Pride™ has evolved to focus on addressing the most critical issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and the members they serve. And the organization continues to welcome LGBTQ+ professionals and allies as part of its commitment to embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
